Clearinghouse for Computer Accommodation

The Mission of the Clearinghouse for Computer Accommodation is to advance technologies and policies which enhance access to electronic information for persons with disabilities.

Toward this Goal we:

• Conduct demonstrations of computer enhancements that facilitate information access.
• Provide consultation to Federal agencies and vendors involved with procurement of Information Systems.
• Assist agency staffs engaged in the development of information products such as CDROMs and online information servers to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities.
• Consult with individuals searching for access solutions or having technical problems with their current adaptive technologies.
• Publish Managing Information Resources for Accessibility a comprehensive handbook on information access.
• Facilitate an Interagency network of accessibility specialists.
• Support activities of the Council on Accessible Technology
