Abstract:
This paper describes investigation about simulator sickness during using a driving simulator . Simulator sickness, is like car sickness, happens when operating a driving simulator. An investigation about the simulator sickness was accomplished with 25 able-bodied ( 13 males and 12 female) subjects who aged between 21 and 54 years old and a left-side-hemiplegic subject. The subjects operated the simulator with risk prediction program. After that, they filled up a questionnaire. The result showed that 82% of the subjects complained about simulator sickness. There was a tendency that the longer holder of a driver's license got the severer sickness. Subjects also pointed out that they felt much less acceleration toward the side when turning. The experiment with the left-side-hemiplegic subject identified unilateral spatial neglect, which couldn't be found in a test taken before the experiment.
