Abstract::
To meet the forthcoming highly aged society, institutional services should be replaced with in-home care services step by step, since the capacity of medical and welfare services has limitations. For this purpose, in-home services, especially many assistive devices should be introduced. Upto now, in Japan, we have concentrated on research and development of assistive devices. However, we have paid little attention to problems, refinement, and follow-up survey of devices and tools sold at the market. Therefore, often the consumer side endure, and so many devices are disused. Sometimes other problem, such as the problem of out-of-date devices and tools or that of poor maintenance, arises. From now on, system must be established to reestimate provided assistive tools and to maintain function of these tools.
