Abstract:
A tricycle for a patient with first-level disorder due to cerebral palsy has been manufactured. Several functions of new tricycle were improved compared with that of the previous one which the patient had been used. The new one has a toggle break of wheelchair on both side rear wheels instead of a side break. It has also a foot brake on both side rear wheels to improve breaking balance. The position of the fulcrum of hand break was lowered to improve the break handling. The number of shift gears was increased from 3 to 4. In addition, both the size and the weight were reduced from 1900 x 800 x 1000 mm to 1780 x 672 x 977 mm and from 36.5 kg to 20.5 kg, respectively.
