Abstract:
A novel training machine for persons with walking disability has been developed. The walking plates of right and left side were separated, and the height of each plate was made controllable to remove up-down fluctuation of body. In addition, each plate has its own brake to control rotating resistance, to cope with the difference between the right and left stepping forces. And the tilt of each plate along the walking direction is also variable. The tilt of each plate perpendicular to the walking direction are changeable to deal with the deformity of legs, such as adduction and abduction. Also, walking direction of each plate is controllable to cope with the stepping direction of each leg.
