Abstract:
An electromotive easel and an electromotive suspended-arm equipment for limb disordered patients due to progressive muscular dystrophy have been developed. The patient can move up, down, left, and right the easel with a 8 channeled switch. Also, he or she can raise up, incline, rotate left, and rotate right the easel. In the case of suspended-arm equipment, electric-powered cylinder moves arm up and down using suspending string. Such devices were actually evaluated by a painter who has progressive muscular dystrophy. He could recall the sense of movement before the dystrophy had become serious.
