Abstract:
In this paper, two types of vehicles developed by the authors for children with physical disabilities are reported. One is named Play-Vehicle which the children can enjoy riding on. And the other is named Transport-Vehicle which their helpers, that is, their mothers can run with the children. The former has six wheels and is designed to be controlled easily by the children owing to its small needed power. The latter is made by combining a bicycle and a wheelchair. The authors put the two vehicles into user tests in hospital homes for physically handicapped children. It is clear that Play-Vehicle is useful and Transport-Vehicle has problems of its size and turning mobility.
