Abstract:
Physical environment (outdoor activity) and social environment (association with relatives, neighbors, and friends) of aged people living in their own house and in a silver house were investigated. Also, the regional difference is argued. Data was mainly collected by interviewing old people (older than 60) living in urban district of Koriyama city. The data collection was done during July in 1996. As far as concerning outdoor activity, aged people living in the silver house were more active than whom live in their own house. However, there was no difference in the case of social environment. Such a result was quite different from that of the rural district, must be attributed to the geometrical distance. Particularly, environmental change due to the movement of the living place seems generating such the difference of social environment.
