Abstract:
Bathing situation of disabled people and those who care disabled people, after the remodeling of bathroom, have been investigated. The investigation was carried out on those who took advantage of the government project for persons with disabilities, and whom not only physical therapist and occupational therapist but authorized architect concerned. From the records of the government project and the application documents and maps, the description of bathing motion was extracted and analyzed. We found that some bathing motions still depend on other persons, suggesting necessity of further classification of bathing motions. In addition, it is recognized that transfer motion in bathroom is totally different from that in house and it depends on the environment. Furthermore, we found that many kinds of assistive devices, which were not used before the remodeling of bathroom, were utilized to improve bathing motions.
