Abstract:
Cervical orthoesis and remodeling clothes are introduced in this report. With these orthoesis and clothes, ALS patient (male, 58 years old) can put on and off his clothes easily. Commercialized cervical orthoesis is used and fixed to his body with cotton tape and leather. The bandanna or cap on his head is connected with string to the orthoesis and the length of the string is adjustable depend on extensional strength of his head. Remodeling clothes are as follows. 1)The shirts is cut out fully in front like a kimono and felt-typed marker is used as a fastener. The cut out skirts is supported with cotton tape or wide bias tape. 2)Sweater is cut out from shoulder to sleeve and felt-typed marker is used as a fastener. 3)Several upper and lower part of elastic band is alternately cut and sewed at lower part of jersey (a little lower than ordinary position) to put on and off the jersey easily. 4)Groin part of trousers is cut out and he can use toilet quickly without putting off his clothes.
