The 3rd Asia-Pacific CBR Congress

Concluding Message
By
Ryosuke MATSUI, Chairperson, Executive Committee, 3rd APCBR Congress

The 3rd Asia-Pacific CBR Congress comes to end now, where more than 550 friends and colleagues from 46 countries and areas have participated.

We, the organizers of this Congress, are extremely grateful for all of you who have made tremendous contributions to its successful organization.

By making most of this opportunity we would like to express our deep appreciation to the strong support given to us by collaborators, including WHO, APCD, JICA, Japan Disability Forum (JDF), Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation (JANIC), CBM, Japanese Physical Therapy Association, The Nippon Foundation, Japanese Association of Occupational Therapists, Beyond MGDs and others.

And we also would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to over 50 volunteers, interpreters, including sign language interpreters, and captionists who have tirelessly assisted us in organizing this three day Congress. Without their dedicated hard work it is not possible for us to meet the various needs of the participants with/without disabilities during the Congress.

We are sure that under the new Executive Committee, chaired by Mr. Ghulam Nabi Nizamani, Asia Pacific CBR Network, will be able to make more active and positive contributions to the further development of inclusive and sustainable communities where no one is left behind. Toward that end what each Asia Pacific CBR Network member is expected to do is to share what you learned from this Congress with its relevant local organizations in the respective country/area, and implement them with necessary adjustments suited to its local situations and needs so that we could present larger number of CBID good practices in the future CBR Congresses.

We are to meet again on the occasion of the 2nd CBR World Congress in Malaysia next year, and 4th Asia Pacific CBR Congress to be organized in Mongolia in 2019. We wish our Malaysian and Mongolian colleagues a great success in organizing these Congresses.

I would like to conclude my short message with deep appreciation to you all again. ARUGATO and SAYONARA..
