Challenges & implications

. Lack of knowledgeable CBR managers & staff (or inappropriate training

CBR has a strong body of concepts and values, knowledge and skills that require appropriate training curricula & teaching methodology for different roles and job descriptions

Documentation & monitoring: burdensome and is often not analysed

Collect basic data at community level to drive planning, whether of training needs, activities or budget requirements

6.Natural & man-made disasters are common but PwD are seldom prepared

CBR can prepare PwD and communities for disaster and support acute and long-term responses (inclusive disaster management)

Training for CBR: often inappropriate .. Too specialized; too theoretical; not about problem solving; not about psycho-social issues; and often lectures; no practice in real situation of community

China: documentation is good.. Lots of data collected but not well used

In disaster prone areas, villages, organizations have plans for disasters, but PwD are often not specially included and may not have their own individualplans; after disasters; newly injured are cared for in hospitals but no-one concerns when they go home..
