Refugees with disabilities in Lebanon / Assistance

Current information reflect the following:

1. There is no national strategy or plan to address the needs of persons with disabilities and older persons among refugees.

2. All funds for refugee response come through UN agencies and INGOs. No funds have been disbursed to or through the GoL.

3. The Women Refugee Commission (WRC) has worked with UNHCR to:
- Develop a Disability strategy
- Promote inclusion of disability in the humanitarian response
- Build the capacity of frontline workers & refugee outreach volunteers
- Strengthen case management systems & procedures
