Refugees with disabilities in Lebanon / Assistance

Arcenciel in partnership with FPSC and with ERF funding, provided rehabilitation services and assistive devices in 2014. Arcenciel expects additional funding this year from other sources.

HI provided physical therapy services, prostheses and orthoses, and psychological support to persons with disabilities among refugees in the Bekaa and in the North (around 200 beneficiaries served in 2014).

ICRC provided upper limb prostheses. Recently ICRC is providing lower limb prostheses.

WRF provided prostheses, orthoses, hearing aids and prescription eyeglasses to persons with disabilities among refugees and in host communities all over Lebanon (750 beneficiaries in 2014 and 54 in 2015).

・Several concerned INGOs, LNGOs and Academic institutions have been promoting awareness on disability issues, and promoting community-based rehabilitation services.

・Several LNGOs and INGOs are looking for new partnerships. Some are waiting for responses on funding proposals.
