Independent Living, Social Participation and
Job Opportunities for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities

スウェーデンでは1994年にLSS法（一定の機能障害を有する人々に対する援助とサービスに関する法律）が制定され、障害者の自己決定を基本として様々なサービスが提供されています。日本でも知的障害者の社会参加及び就労をどのように発展させていくのかが大きな課題となっていますが、この点について、知的障害者の社会参加及び就労を支援する活動で成果を挙げているスウェーデンから専門家を招聘して障害者の自立、社会参加、更に就労がどのような支援で成り立っているかを学びます。更にスウェーデンの専門家を交え、日本の障害当事者、専門家、及び支援者が直面する問題などに対処する支援策を模索、検討する場を提供いたします。

In Sweden, LSS（The Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments Act）was enacted in 1994 and various services for persons with disabilities are provided based on the self-determination of persons with disabilities themselves. In Japan,issues of promoting social participation and job opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities have been actively raised for recent years.
We will invite two specialists from Sweden where support system for people with intellectual disabilities has been successfully developed and hold a seminar to learn about measures and good practices in independent living, social participation and providing job opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities.
Following the lectures specialists from Sweden and Japan together with a person with intellectual disabilities himself will discuss and identify how to tackle the issues on promoting support and service for persons with intellectual disabilities in Japan.
