When she returned to her field she became involved with a self-help group (SHG) under the project. Within a very short time she became the key spokesperson of the group and of the community. She became involved in community sensitization program and started to lead numerous advocacy initiatives to convince local government
A victim of discrimination, stigma and child marriage, Khaleda’s journey towards freedom and empowerment became an inspiration for many. In recognition of her role for disability inclusion, Khaleda was awarded a crest by the District Social Service Department.
