[MHLW] First Accreditation of Appropriate Fee-charging Job Agencies in Healthcare, Elderly care, and Childcare sectors

On 19 November 2021, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) accredited 19 companies for the first time as appropriate fee-charging job agencies specializing in healthcare, elderly care, and childcare sectors.

The MHLW has established an accreditation system for fee-charging job agencies to improve the quality of recruitment and matching in the healthcare, elderly care, and childcare sectors, where labor shortages are particularly acute. The accreditation system will allow organizations with job vacancies such as medical institutions, elderly care facilities, day-care centers to overview the content, quality, and cost of services provided by fee-charging job agencies before choosing the appropriate agency.

Fee-charging job agencies that meet specific standards are accredited as "appropriate fee-charging job agencies" and given the certification marks below.

The accreditation system consists of the Council mainly in charge of governance and the Accreditation Committee, supported by a Study Group (limited to 2021), the Information liaison Group, and the Secretariat. In addition, the MHLW entrusts the system's operation to the Japan Executive Search and Recruitment Association (JESRA).
