On November 20, 2020, MLIT published a Progress Report on Promoting Smooth Public Transportation for the fiscal year 2019. All public transportation companies are required to submit a report on their progress in making the environment barrier-free, according to Article 23 of the Act on Promotion of Smooth Transportation, etc. of Elderly Persons, Disabled Persons, etc. (New Barrier Free Act).
