Conclusions

slide19

  • Knowledge contents in DAISY format in combination with assistive technologies is the best logical and practical solution to share information and knowledge for everybody including persons with diverse disabilities, illiterates, language minorities, and indigenous language groups who do not have written scripts
  • DAISY supports everybody to read in their own language
  • DAISY promotes full participation of everybody as an active partner with dignity thus contributes to develop a truly human centered inclusive society where Free and Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) principle is respected.
  • Critical global issues such as Poverty, Disasters, AIDS and Climate Change need to be tackled by sharing knowledge in accessible format such as DAISY
  • DAISY and EPUB are developing “one source solution” for inclusive publishing.
