2021年12月23日、サイモン・ハリス高等教育・研究・イノベーション・科学(Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science）大臣は、知的障害のある学習者の教育インクルージョンに関する新しいレポートを発表しました。

このレポートは、「成人の読解力向上支援事業への知的障害のある学習者の参加に関するガイドラインの実施–バックグランドレポート(Implementation of Guidelines on the Inclusion of Learners with Intellectual Disabilities in Adult Literacy Services Background Report)」と「成人の読解力向上支援事業への知的障害のある学習者の参加に関するガイドラインの実施–ケーススタディ(Implementation of Guidelines on the Inclusion of Learners with Intellectual Disabilities in Adult Literacy Services Case Studies)」の2つのレポートから構成されています。

これらのレポートでは、次のようなことが必要であるとしています。

〇学習者中心の取組
〇計画、評価、実施というサイクルにより実施
〇現在の指導者の支援と専門性の向上
〇持続可能な協力体制
