OVERVIEW ABOUT DISABILITY IN VIETNAM

  • Survey 2016 (VDS):
  • Population:
    • 7.06% of population aged 2 and over are PWDs
    • Total: 6,225,519 PWDs, of which about 3.5 millions are women with disabilities (WWDs) and girls with disabilities (GWDs).
  • UNCRPD report (2018): about 7 ml PWDs
    • The incidence of disability tends to increase
    • The prevalence rate for rural area is almost 1.5 times higher than in urban areas.
