On 1^st December 2020, a bill to launch a telephone relay service that will enable people with hearing difficulties to place calls via online assistants came into law. The MIC had sought public comments regarding the bill from 19^th September to 19^th October 2020 and reflected these in the related policies. The MIC has started accepting applications for designation of telephone relay service providers and of telephone relay service support organizations.
