[Cabinet Office] Annual Report on the Domestic Disability Measures Published

The Cabinet Office published the 2021 Annual Report on Government Measures for Persons with Disabilities on June 15, 2021.

The report describes the state of the measures taken for persons with disabilities. The Cabinet Office submits the report to the Diet per Article 13 of the Basic Act for Persons with Disabilities (Act No. 84 of 1970) every year since 1994, and this year is the 28th edition.

The 2021 edition of the report features the following:

  • It publishes measures for people with disabilities in each policy area, such as responses to COVID-19, spreading universal design and barrier-free mind in the wake of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, promotion of understanding of disability, and elimination of discrimination against people with disabilities.
  • It covers various specific examples in 39 topics from the public and private sectors in education, employment, daily life, community development, and information and communication.
