[EMPLOYMENT] Recruit Staffing’s Fact-finding Survey on Employment of People with Disabilities

On 23 June 2021, Recruit Staffing Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shinya Yamamoto) announced the results of its Survey on Employment of People with Disabilities, targeting managers, personnel/labor relations staff, and general affairs staff at companies (25-5,000+ employees) that employ people with disabilities. The main findings of the survey are as follows.

In response to the increase in the statutory employment rate of people with disabilities in the private sector to 2.3%, 36.0% of companies answered that they plan to increase the number of people with disabilities they employ. On the other hand, "50.6% of companies responded that they plan to maintain the same number of disabled employees as before.

The positive aspects of promoting the employment of people with disabilities were: "Employees' understanding of people with disabilities has improved (45.7%)", "An environment has been created where people with disabilities can work together (33.1%)" and "Diversity has been promoted (25.9%)".

The most common challenge in employing people with disabilities was that it is difficult to specify the tasks entrusted to them (42.8%), followed by difficulty securing a workplace (34.0%).

About telework for people with disabilities, 35.9% of respondents said they had introduced telework, and 13.4% said they have not introduced telework but would like to do so in the future.
