[MEXT] Release of the Results of the Survey According to the Current Situation in the Informatization of Education in Schools

On August 31, 2022, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) released the "Results of the Survey on the Current Situation in the Informatization of Education in Schools in FY2021".

This survey is intended for school education and educational administration to clarify the status of ICT equipment installed by local governments, the Internet connectivity in schools, and the teachers' ability to teach using ICT. The survey has been conducted since 1988 to obtain primary data for research and planning educational policies at the national and local levels. The base date for the survey is March 1 of the year the survey is conducted (as of May 1 for primary data).

An overview of the survey is as follows.

  2) Teachers' ability to teach using ICT

 (2) Survey subjects

For 1): Public schools nationwide (elementary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools, compulsory education schools, secondary education schools, and schools for special needs education)

As for 2): All teachers in charge of classes at public schools nationwide

(3) Base date for the survey:

As of March 1, 2022
