Special Event on Disability-inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction
On the occasion of High-level Intergovernmental Meeting on the Final Review of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons held on 29 October to 2 November 2012 in Incheon, Republic of Korea, Japan Disability Forum (JDF) held "Special Event on Disability-inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction" sponsored by The Nippon Foundation and with kind cooperation of UN ESCAP.
JDF also held the exhibit about the Great East Japan Earthquake and support activities for persons with disabilities.

Aim
The Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011 has had an extremely severe impact on persons with disabilities. All of us deeply appreciate the kind support, both physical and mental, extended by people all over the world. Persons with disabilities remain quite vulnerable in the face of natural disasters. We will hold a session to exchange experiences, ideas and findings on enhancing disaster risk reduction and creating more inclusive society in the Asia and Pacific Region, with the objective of protecting lives and aiding persons with disabilities in times of natural disaster.
